Scouts is all about fun, challenges and adventure.
What we do
Who we are
Tame Valley Scout District is the local arm of the United Kingdom's Scout Association. We have 7 Scout Groups providing a vibrant mix of age appropriate everyday adventure activities. All our groups have a full complement of Beaver Cub & Scout sections along with an Explorer & Network section at district level. We have our own Campsite and Bunkhouse on the edge of the moors above Stalybridge for our outdoor activities.
Where we are
Tame Valley is in the Scout county of Greater Manchester East. Geographically we cover the north-eastern quadrant of the metropolitan borough of Tameside encompassing the towns of Dukinfield, Mossley and Stalybridge. Both the Scout District and the Metropolitan Borough are named after the river Tame which runs through the District. Tame Valley borders the Scout Districts of North & South Tameside and Oldham. Four of our groups meet in their own headquarters, we have two church based groups and one based in a community school.
Every year we help 450,000 young people in the UK enjoy new adventures; to rgexperience the outdoors; interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Working alongside our youth members are thousands of adult volunteers, with a huge variety of roles and opportunities available.
